Traditional and contemporary Coast Salish weavings by Suquamish Weaver, Virginia Adams. Each piece is one of a kind and handcrafted on a traditional Salish loom. This is a very rare art form recently revived.


Salish Princess- Hand Woven Regalia and Mat, $400

Prior to European contact and American settlement in the Pacific Northwest, wool garments were a status symbol. Blankets and robes were prized possessions used in Potlatches and ceremonies; however, some were also used as currency. This outfit is traditional ceremonial regalia which would be worn at a Naming Ceremony or a Wedding, at the end of which all items would be given away. ADD TO CART

Raven's Tail Bag, $350

Raven's Tail is a style of weaving that pre-dates the better known Chilkat weaving which originates from the same area. This pattern is known as "The Box of Day Light" from the legend "The Raven Steals The Light." It depicts the box within the box, the smallest of which holds all the light in the world. ADD TO CART
